There are three distinct types of website; the first is a HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language) site which generally consists of static pages constructed with pictures and text. The second type is a dynamic site using PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) or ASP (Active Server Pages) which can both be incorporated with HTML and Java Script and Flash. Dynamic pages will make your website more intelligent and interactive and will provide you with the ability to incorporate search facilities, forums and response forms; Facebook is a prime example of a dynamic website. An e-commerce site is database driven and is used for applications which require shopping carts where products need to be constantly updated using a content management system. The third type is a Flash website which is generally artistically driven but for search engine optimisation reasons, Flash websites are not really suitable for business purposes. Flash animation can be incorporated into HTML, PHP or ASP sites to add an extra professional and artistic dimension to the look and feel of the pages. This is AMG’s preferred use of Flash.
